4 Months

Elliot is 4 months old!

This past month has been so fun! Ellie is growing and learning so quickly -- she amazes me. Here are some fun facts about our girl at four months:
  • She is drooling like crazy. She spits and bubbles and fills her mouth with saliva then pushes it out with her tongue. The fronts of her shirts are constantly wet.
  • Her interest in toys has increased dramatically in the past couple of weeks. She grabs, pushes, pulls, and plays with her toys now. Her favorites are a musical snail that rocks and lights up. She also loves her "crunchy" doll which as a skirt that crinkles when you move it.

  • Ellie is getting stronger all the time. Not only can she sit up in her Bumbo, but she loves to stand! She holds all her own weight and only uses my hands for balance. Look at her go!

  • Elliot is obsessed with her tongue.

  • She is such a happy baby. She flirts and smiles at almost anyone and can be a real distraction during church.
  • Her hands have become very fascinating (and tasty) lately.

  • She likes being lifted up, over people's heads and then down again. She thinks it's hilarious.
  • Ellie is my little koala bear. I love that she's now old enough to carry around on my hip. She just clings onto my shirt and is happy to go along with whatever I am doing.
  • This girl loves mirrors. She'll smile or giggle 99% of the time when she sees her reflection.

And now for her stats:
  • Weight: 13.7 pounds (30th percentile)
  • Height: 25 inches (75th percentile)
  • Head: 16.75 inches (75th percentile)

Here's a visual timeline of how quickly she's growing up.

Ellie's Blessing Day

Last Sunday was Elliot's blessing day!

The blessing, given by Christian, was beautiful and so sweet. And Ellie reverently listened to the whole thing. She was such a good girl! And she looked especially scrumptious in her lacy tiered dress.

The dress she wore was actually the one I was blessed in 24 years earlier. I was so happy my mom saved it and that I got to share something so special with my daughter. (And that it fit.)

It was a beautiful day and we were so happy to share it with some of our family!

3 Months

Elliot is 3 months old!

She sure is growing up fast :)

One Month                           Two Months                         Three Months

Here are some updates on our little miss:
  • She no longer despises her car seat. We recently enjoyed a week long vacation in Hawaii (a post about paradise will be coming shortly) and so she got lots of practice traveling.
  • She is the best airplane baby EVER. I was super nervous about taking Ellie on a plane but she did magnificently! On the 6 plane rides we took in just 7 days, she didn't cry once. Not even exaggerating. She's a traveling champ!

  • She can now roll from her tummy to her back. She rolled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I was so proud! Which brings me to my next point...
  • Ellie no longer screams nonstop during tummy time! She has gotten so strong and having the freedom to flip over anytime she wants helps make the experience much more enjoyable.

  • Her sense of humor has really grown. Some of her favorite things that make her laugh include:
    • Patty Cake
    • Saying "boo!" or "hi!" suddenly and half scaring her
    • Hearing mommy laugh
  • She still has the best expressions.

  • Ellie baby has become quite a mommy's girl. She still adores daddy of course, but I swear, she's already entering the clingy stage. Lately she's taken to crying anytime I go out of her sight range. But...maybe that's just because she associates me with food :) Here we are cuddling during her morning nap.
  •  Her hair is getting THICK!
  • She loves, loves, loves, baths. I have to fill her tub with less water than I used to because she loves to splash and make a huge mess.

We had a quick little photo shoot out in the yard the other day to celebrate this beautiful fall weather! First, we went to a pumpkin patch and got Elliot her very first pumpkin.

Adorable right? This next picture cracks me up because of the way she is lifting up her tutu. I have a feeling she's going to be a handful when she gets older...

And now for some with her awesome parents :)

2 Months

Our little E-Claire is 2 months old!

Another month come and gone. Wow. It's hard to believe my baby girl is growing up so quickly! I barely know what day it is most of the time, what with taking care of munchkin all day, every day. But I wouldn't change any of it. She brings so much joy into our little family! Just look at that happy face!

Here are some updates about our little Ellie girl:
  • She has started to wear 3 month size clothing. She's long enough for it, but still a little skinny to fill them up completely.
  • Laughs in her sleep.
  • Could win any staring contest -- she loves to look you straight in the eye and study your face. She has amazing concentration.
  • Has really enhanced her noise making ability. She coos, screams, squeals, coughs, gasps, laughs, grunts, and growls. She's so fun :)
  • Has entered the awkward baby stage of scaly skin and a balding/mullet hairdo but is still the prettiest thing around!
  • Loves her daddy. As soon as she hears his voice, she'll whip her head around and break into a huge grin.
  • Her long, strawberry blonde hair is falling out and white blonde peach fuzz is growing in.
  • Her are her stats from her appointment today:
    • Weight: 10 pounds 3 ounces. She is a little thing -- in the 25th percentile.
    • Height: She is in the 80th percentile measuring in at 23 inches long. Our baby girl is TALL!
    • Head circumference: She has the infamous Purcell head. Her big ole noggin is in the 70th percentile. :)

And now for some pictures!

Look at that hair. Bald in the front...party in the back!

Our little string bean -- tall and lean.
