Well, it happened. My little pumpkin is finally here! I'll write about her birth story later, but for now I wanted to do a quick post about how cute her nursery turned out. Take a look!
I had a craft night with my mom and sister in law a while back and made these letters to hang above Ellie's crib. Her room was already painted a pretty grey so I decided to go with the pink/grey color scheme. Pretty cute huh?
And here's how it looks with her crib :) I don't take very good pictures, so you can't see it very well, but I LOVE the crib skirt I found. It's white, three tiered, and has a pink trim.
Instead of buying a dresser AND a changing table, we decided to save a little money and combine the two. I bought a changing pad and a soft pink cover. It just sits on top of the dresser and works great!
Pink drapes, rocking chair, and fancy shmancy gold mirror.
Ellie's adorable piggy bank (it's wearing a tutu!), her toy basket, book shelf (we're still working on filling it) and, of course, no nursery of mine would be complete without a picture of Jesus.
Fun huh? I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I also had another big project I wanted to have finished before Ellie came. I, Stacie Purcell Carnley, made a quilt -- a thing I vowed I would never do again. Last time I made a quilt was when I was 16 or so and it was pretty much a nightmare.
The process for this quilt was just as nightmare-ish and took just as long, but! I think it turned out great! However, I need to give credit where credit is due. My dear, sweet mother did most of the work. I pretty much came to her with and idea and nothing else. She made the pattern and did most (all) of the measuring and precise cutting. I've never been patient enough to measure tenths of inches...I prefer to eyeball things...which is probably why I have such a difficult time sewing :)
But look how awesome it turned out! Made with love by Grandma and Mommy :)
Isn't that just the cutest quilt you've ever seen? I'm pretty proud. And there you have it! Ellie's nursery in all its pink and grey glory. I had so much fun decorating and preparing her room. As cute as it looks in the pictures, it looks even better with a baby in it :) I'll leave you all with a picture of the beautiful pink roses my daddy brought me after Ellie was born. Gorgeous right?
The end.
That quilt is amazing! And Elliot is beautiful :) We'll have to get together when we get back to Utah! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! We like her :)
DeleteCongrats Stacie! I can't believe we are old enough to be married and having babies! It seems like just yesterday when we were singing Savage Garden and jumping on your trampoline. =) I just wanted to tell you that Elliot is adorable, and so is her nursery! Love and miss you and so glad to see you're doing so well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam! I know...marriage...babies...it's like we're adults or something! Haha, crazy stuff!
