10 months

Elliot Claire is 10 months old!

^^ ^^ ^^ That face sums up my feelings pretty well. Look how big and grown up she is!

Can somebody stop her from growing up so quickly! Please?
Here are some recent updates on our little E-Claire:

  • Favorite food: Peanut Butter and oatmeal

  • Favorite song: "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" She even smells "the treat," which is super adorable.

  • Favorite game: Pretending to be puppies with mommy. She is OBSESSED with dogs. Whenever she sees or hears one she immediately starts barking and panting. So naturally, her favorite game is played by crawling through the house while barking.
Ellie and her favorite stuffed puppy dog.

  • Favorite book: "Pat the Bunny." We read it about ten times a day. She'll turn each page by herself and then do all the actions...pat the bunny, lift the cloth to play "peek-a-boo with Paul, feel daddy's scratchy face, lift the book to smell the flowers, etc. It is precious.
Searching for "Pat the Bunny"

  • Ellie babe has recently discovered how doors work. Now whenever one is halfway open, she'll crawl over and lean on it until it closes.
  • Elliot blows on her food when it's warm. She's so observant! Pretty sure she learned this from watching me blow on her oatmeal (the breakfast she eats every morning.)
  • She loves electronics, just like her Daddy. Here they are playing Wii together.
  • This little miss has gotten a major attitude lately! She is SO independent and smart and is never without an opinion. She knows what she wants, and when she doesn't get it, watch out! For instance, when Mommy is mean and won't let her chew on computer cords she whines, scratches, arches her body and throws her head backward. I'm a teensy bit concerned for what the terrible twos will look like.
She means business.

  • E can now climb up stairs! She mastered this in like two minutes. We're still working on the down part though.

  • This kid is a really good kisser. She gets it from her mom, ha :) Seriously though, her little puckered lips melt my heart. I usually get a forceful kiss right on the lips when I get her from her crib first thing in the morning. She reserves most of her other kisses for Daddy.
We kiss a lot in our family.

  • Ellie still isn't walking on her own, but she'll plod along behind her little push car (which she LOVES). She is also getting better and standing unassisted. We'll be there before we know it!
She's not pushing it here, but she sure loves this musical car!

  • She recently found that unrolling the toilet paper in the bathroom is great fun.

  • This little girl is such a busy body! There aren't many things she'll sit still for. I don' know if this is the next phase or it is because we are in a different apartment for the summer, but hardly any of her toys interest her anymore. She wants to be crawling and grabbing and discovering every little thing that is not meant for babies. To keep my sanity, I let her have at the Tupperware drawer.
  • Apparently Elliot is pretty big (even though she's technically average in weight/height). Either that or other people have midget children. What I'm trying to say is, almost anywhere we go, people guess she is over a year old. They're shocked when I tell them she barely turned 10 months. Someone even guessed she was a year and a half the other day.
  • Ellie survived her first move! We've known she's a traveling champ since she was 2 months old (when we took her to Hawaii), but our recent move to Boise solidified it even more. She was happy the entire 6 hour drive. And she's adjusted to her new surroundings so well! I think she's a little bored of being with just mommy 24/7 (in South Jordan we had both families nearby) but she's still her happy little self.

I love failed selfie group shots, haha :)

That's better.

  1. She is so precious- she seems good natured but a fun good natured, rather than a boring "sweet spirit" good natured (though I'm sure she does have a very sweet spirit too!). Haha, and I love the failed family selfie.

  2. I love this Stacie! I just about died watching the popcorn popping video. She is such a little sweetheart--we adore her. Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow! xx
