Bear Lake

As the final hoorah of the summer, we headed for our third beach within the past three months. This time however, instead of heading to the coast or the gulf, we went lakeside.

Bear Lake is one of my most favorite places on earth. Not only is it where Christian and I enjoyed our honeymoon, but it's a relatively short drive, has beautiful beaches, and clear, turquoise colored water. This trip, the whole family except for my brother Matt and his wife Stephanie, were able to come and enjoy the sun. We spent our time soaking up rays, playing in the water, eating good food, watching Downton Abbey, and lovin on James and Stephie Lynne's three little ones.

Me and Chase with his water beetle that he named "Pancake."
Chase man literally ran around non-stop -- building (and destroying) sand castles, digging for shells, chasing the sea gulls, and wrapping aunts, uncles, and the grandparents around his cute little finger. He kept us all laughing the whole trip with his constant commentary and spunky personality.

Our second day at Bear Lake, we rented a canoe and wave runners. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed bobbing around in the cool water.

When were weren't in the water, we sat under the canopy and cuddled with two sweethearts named Ashtyn and Blakeley.

The water warriors and their weapons of choice.
It was a much needed vacation for the whole family. I got to play with babies, and Christian got his guy time :)
Our last day at the beach, we decided to rent a boat and take the whole family out on the water. We took turns jumping waves and being pulled behind the boat.

We're all smiles here...little did we know, we would flip about two seconds later...
We all had so much fun spending time with one another and taking a little break from the daily routine. Summer is the best. Christian and I have had quite a few adventures in the past couple of months, and what a way to top it all off! Let's do it again next year.

  1. I love this! It looks like you guys had a blast! I definitely wish we could have gone with you! Hopefully we'll be back in Utah next summer or for good the summer after and can plan another trip to Bear Lake. :)
